I have been informed by Andy Anderson of the passing of
Eddie (Flash) Gordon who served during the 40’s as a seaman and was sunk
on H.M.S. Hecla and other ships on which he served were also sunk. He
also served on H.M.S. Victorious as a Handler and was on board when the
Venoms landed and without folding wings! The tales he told to Andy was
that they would not go down the after lift.
Eddie was 86 years old and his family wish to give a donation to the
Aircraft Handlers’ Association, again unfortunately Eddie was not a
member but still one of our original Handlers.
