After the Cenotaph Parade at the bar in the Silver Cross me and Brum Lewis were speaking to Shep Woolley (comedy/naval songster) who was with HMS Ganges Association. He asked about our Assoc and said he knew a handler called Joe Kirk who he thought was on HMS Blake with him. I said that I had’nt seen or heard from Joe for some time. I now know why. Sad news indeed. Another good man crosses the bar.
RIP Joe.

RIP Joe.
I was very sad to hear about the death of Joe fron Nick Martin this past Monday, I knew Joe for many years and we served together in HMS Tiger both working watch about on the deck, As we both came from Lancashire we shared the same sence of humour and had many laughs together over the mess bar. He was’nt just a ship mate but a dear friend who will be great loss to the Association, his friends and family, my sincere condolences to Jean and his family RIP Joe.
Both myself and Mike (splott) Hurley were deeply saddened by Joe’s untimely passing, we send our sincere condolences to his family. Joe will be sadly missed.
