I am sorry to inform
members that Eddie Oates (Ex-Chief AH) crossed
over the bar on the 18 August 2006 his wife has
only recently informed me of his passing. He
served for 22 yrs, his ships included Triumph,
Illustrious, Bulwark, and was stationed at
Lossiemouth and Arbroath, Eddie was also a
Korean and Suez veteran. I will be writing to
Rita his wife shortly sending her our
condolences, sadly it is to late to honour him
as a member of the Aircraft Handlers Association
as is customary of our branch, but his wife
informs me he was buried with the white ensign.
